About Sun Court Nursing Home

Sun Court is a nursing home in Sheringham. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing on the premises, including people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We also offer respite stays. Having nurses here at all hours means changing health, skin and wound care, complicated medication and support at the end of life can be managed here, alongside the GP and community teams, rather than by moving somebody somewhere unfamiliar at the point they would least want to move. It also means that when a person begins to become unwell, we usually notice early. Around the nursing, this is a place where people live. We ask what an ordinary day looked like before somebody came to us and try to protect the parts that mattered, whether that is a particular chair, a walk outside, the radio on first thing or being left in peace until they are ready. Where dementia or sensory loss makes conversation difficult, we slow down, check that hearing aids and glasses are working, and take our lead from the person rather than talking over them. Families are welcome and we encourage relatives to visit and to ask us questions. If you are looking at nursing care on this part of the Norfolk coast, please ring us and arrange a visit.
