About Meadows Care Home
Olney Meadows Care Home is a nursing home in Olney, caring for older people whose health needs have gone beyond what can be managed comfortably at home. Qualified nurses are on hand at every hour, which means changes in somebody's condition are noticed early and managed here wherever possible rather than through repeated hospital admissions. Much of our work is with people living with dementia. We keep the day predictable and unhurried, we make sure people see faces they recognise and we pay attention to the small things that settle a person. We also care for people living with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss, where dignity and sensible adjustments matter as much as clinical care, and for younger adults, whose day we plan around their own interests. Respite care is available as well, for people recovering after illness and for family carers who need a break. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so openly. Until we do, the fairest way to judge us is to visit, see how people here spend their day and ask the nurses and carers whatever you want to know.
