About Barons Lodge
Barons Lodge is a nursing home in Mitcham. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with mental ill health and people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. With registered nurses on duty at all hours, medication, wound care, continence, long term conditions and care at the end of life are managed here rather than through repeated journeys to hospital. We work closely with local GPs, community nursing teams, therapists and mental health colleagues, and we ask for specialist advice early rather than waiting to see. Supporting people of quite different ages and needs under one roof takes thought, and we plan individually rather than running everybody to one pattern. Somebody in their forties with complex physical needs wants a different week from somebody in their eighties, and both should be possible here. Where physical disabilities are involved we make sure the equipment and the practical support are right, so that help with moving and personal care is safe, comfortable and dignified. Where mental ill health is part of the picture we plan with the person, in calm periods, for the times that are harder. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families and professionals are welcome to visit, meet the nursing team and see how the home runs.
