About Valley View Care Home
We are a nursing home in Rochester, caring for older people who need qualified nursing support alongside help with the everyday parts of life. Nurses are available at any hour, which means a change in somebody's condition is noticed and acted on early rather than left to develop into a crisis. Respite stays are available too, whether that is a planned break for a family carer or a period of recovery after illness or a hospital admission. Good nursing care is not only clinical. What people notice day to day is whether they are known properly, whether their own routines still count for something, and whether the person helping them is unhurried. We try to get those things right as carefully as we manage the medical side. We would rather be direct about inspection than leave it unsaid. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. That is not where we want to be and we will not soften it. Specific shortcomings were identified, we are working through them, and the honest position is that the work is under way rather than finished. So please do come and see the home. Look round, talk to residents and to staff, and ask us plainly what was found and what has changed since.
