Here at Amherst Court, we are a nursing home based in Chatham, Medway, and we take genuine pride in the care we provide to each and every person who comes through our doors. We support a wide range of needs, including older person care, nursing care, dementia care, respite care, and care for younger adults. Whether someone is joining us for a short stay to recover or rest, or making Amherst Court their long term home, we work hard to make sure they feel settled, respected, and well looked after from the very beginning. Our team understands that moving into a care home, or supporting a loved one through that process, can bring a great deal of uncertainty. We try to make things as straightforward and reassuring as possible by listening carefully, communicating openly, and always keeping the individual at the centre of every decision we make. Each person in our care has their own history, preferences, and personality, and we make a point of getting to know all of that properly. For those living with dementia, we give particular thought to creating calm, familiar routines and an environment that feels safe and comfortable. Our nursing team brings real clinical expertise to the home, meaning that more complex health needs are managed with confidence and attentiveness day and night. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection resulted in a rating of good, which we feel reflects the genuine effort that goes into everything we do here. That said, we never see a good rating as a reason to stand still. We are always looking at how we can improve and make life here even better.
