About Blair House
Blair House is a nursing home in Lincoln. We care for older people who need nursing support, and we also support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including younger adults who need nursing care as well as help with everyday life. Having qualified nurses on duty at all times means health needs are managed here rather than becoming a crisis. Because the people living here have very different needs, we plan support one person at a time. For someone older and physically frail, that may mean skilled nursing, help with washing and dressing and company through the day. For a younger adult with a learning disability it may mean support to cook, to go out locally, to keep up with family and to have a say in how the week is arranged. We take time to learn how each person communicates and what they find hard. Our staff are trained for the people they look after, including in communication and in supporting somebody who is distressed. We keep the team as consistent as we can, because familiarity does more than any care plan. Respite stays are available where a family carer needs a break or somebody needs nursing support for a short while. Families and advocates are welcome and kept informed as much as the person wishes. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and see how the home runs.
