About Peaker Park Care Village

Peaker Park Care Village is a nursing home in Market Harborough in Leicestershire. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing is impaired. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Qualified nurses are on duty at every hour, so medication, wound care, continence, long term conditions and care at the end of life are managed here, in close contact with local GPs, community teams, therapists and mental health colleagues. Supporting people of quite different ages and needs together takes planning, and we do it individually rather than running everybody to one pattern. Somebody in their forties with complex physical needs wants a different week from somebody in their nineties living with dementia, and both should be possible here. For people living with dementia we work on familiarity above all, a day with a predictable shape, consistent staff, surroundings that make sense and time to respond properly when a person is anxious. We ask families to tell us about somebody's life, because that history is usually what helps us understand what they are asking for. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome and we would much rather you came and saw the place for yourself than relied on anything written here.
