About Turfcote Care Home with Nursing
Turfcote Care Home with Nursing is in Rossendale, and as the name says we provide nursing care as well as help with daily life. Qualified nurses are on duty day and night, which means medication, wound and pressure care and conditions that need close monitoring are managed here, and somebody who becomes unwell is seen straight away. We care for older people, for adults with mental health needs, for residents with a physical disability and for younger adults whose nursing needs are best met in a home like ours. Because those needs differ so much, we assess carefully and plan around the individual rather than the house routine. Many residents are living with dementia. We keep the day calm and predictable, keep familiar staff working with the same people and take time to work out what somebody means when speech has become hard. Where a person wants to walk about we make that safe rather than asking them to sit down. Nursing is the foundation, but the point of it is an ordinary life. Residents choose when to get up, what they eat, where they sit and who visits, and we work at keeping those choices real rather than nominal. Respite stays are available after a hospital admission or where a family carer needs a genuine break. Please ring us if you would like to visit and meet the nurses.
