About The Glen Care Home

The Glen is a nursing home in Morecambe supporting older people who need nursing care, including many living with dementia, and adults living with a physical disability. We support younger adults as well, and we take respite bookings. Having registered nurses on site means clinical needs are met here rather than becoming a reason for someone to be moved on. Medication, wounds, continence, long term conditions and end of life care are all looked after in the home by staff who know the resident, which counts for a great deal at the hardest moments. We try to make sure nursing is not the whole of the day. Breakfast at a reasonable hour, a chair by a decent window, conversation with someone who knows your history and something to look forward to are what actually make a day worth having. Staff who know residents well also spot pain or a change in mood long before it reaches any record. For residents living with a physical disability we put real effort into seating, positioning, equipment and mobility, because those things decide how comfortable a day is and how much of it belongs to the person. Respite stays are available, including recovery stays after hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. If you would like to visit, please get in touch.
