About Beechwood
Beechwood is a nursing home in Huddersfield. We care for older people and younger adults with nursing needs, including people living with dementia, people with learning disabilities, autistic people, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available. We want to be honest with you from the start. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to gloss over it. We accepted what the inspectors found, we have been working through it with them and with the local authority, and we would far rather you heard it from us and then asked us what we have changed. Nursing cover here is round the clock, which allows us to look after people with complex health needs, manage medication carefully and care for people at the end of life without them having to move again. Where someone communicates differently, through signs, pictures or their own familiar gestures, our staff learn their way of doing it. Residents have their own rooms and their own routines, and families are welcome through the day. We hold regular meetings with residents and relatives, and we act on what is raised rather than filing it. If you are considering Beechwood, please visit, ask us difficult questions and speak to the people who live and work here.
