About Creedy House
Creedy House is a nursing home in New Romney in Kent. We care for older people who need nursing support, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we take respite bookings. We would sooner tell you this ourselves. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us as requires improvement. We are not going to write around it. The findings were taken seriously, there is an improvement plan we are working through, and if you visit you should ask us plainly what has changed and what is still outstanding. You will get a plain answer. What has not changed is the reason for having qualified nurses here around the clock. It means people whose health is genuinely complicated can stay with us as things change, rather than being moved on at the point familiarity matters most. Wounds, pain, continence, nutrition, medication and safe movement are all managed here. Alongside that we work at the ordinary courtesies, because clinical care done without thought reduces a person to a schedule. People choose when they get up, what they wear, what they eat and how the day goes. We knock, we explain, and we wait for an answer. Dementia in particular asks for a familiar day and for us to look for the reason behind distress rather than simply trying to calm it. Improvement comes from listening to residents and relatives and then acting on what we hear.
