About Warren Lodge Care Home
We are Warren Lodge Care Home, a nursing home in Ashford, Kent. We care for older people and younger adults needing nursing support, including those living with dementia, and we take respite admissions as well as permanent residents. Nursing staff are here at every hour, which is what allows us to look after people whose health is complicated or liable to change. A resident does not have to move when their condition shifts, clinical decisions are made by people who know them, and care at the end of life can be given here rather than somewhere unfamiliar. Dementia care occupies a large part of our attention. We try to understand the person rather than the diagnosis, which usually means learning somebody's history, their routines and what settles or unsettles them, and then shaping the day around that instead of expecting them to fit our timetable. When a resident is distressed there is nearly always a cause, and it is more often practical than people assume. Families often tell us more in the first fortnight than any assessment form captures, so we ask early and we go on asking. Visiting is not rationed here. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
