About Barleycroft Care Home
Barleycroft Care Home is a nursing home in Romford. We care for older people and younger adults who need nursing support, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we take respite admissions as well as permanent residents. Qualified nurses are on site around the clock, so we can look after people whose health needs are significant or changing, support people after hospital and provide care towards the end of life properly and without hurry. That also means families are not left worrying about what happens overnight. Clinical care is only half of it, though. What people actually judge us on, rightly, is whether their relative is comfortable, clean, well fed, listened to and not left waiting. Those are the standards we hold ourselves to. For residents living with dementia we keep routines familiar and staffing as steady as we can, and we take time to learn the person's history so that we can make better sense of what they are telling us. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to avoid the subject. We know which areas were identified, we are working through them with the team, and if you come to see us we will tell you frankly where we have got to. Families are welcome at Barleycroft at any reasonable time, and we would far rather hear a concern early than late.
