About The Fountains Care Centre
The Fountains Care Centre is a nursing home in Rainham, in the borough of Havering, caring for older people who need nursing support, including many living with dementia. Registered nurses are on duty at all hours, so we can care for people with complex health needs and continue caring for them as those needs change. We also offer respite stays for families who need a planned break and for people who are not yet ready to return home after hospital. Everyone who comes to us, for a fortnight or for years, gets the same start, which is a proper conversation about who they are, what they can manage, what they worry about and how they want their days to go. For residents with dementia we keep routines steady and familiar, we allow plenty of time and we try to understand what lies behind distress rather than simply calming it. Meals are cooked here, requests are taken seriously, and there is company for those who want it and peace for those who do not. Families are welcome throughout the day and are part of how we plan care. If something changes, we would rather telephone you early with news than leave you to wonder. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are thinking about a nursing home for someone in your family, please come and look round, meet the team and see the place on an ordinary day rather than a tidied up one.
