About The Grange Nursing Home
The Grange is a nursing home in Southampton providing round the clock nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia and those with physical disabilities or complex health needs. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Having registered nurses on site at all hours changes what we can offer. It means wounds, catheters, diabetes, pain relief and end of life care can be managed here, calmly and by people who know the resident well, rather than through repeated trips to hospital. We work closely with local GPs, district nursing colleagues and specialist palliative teams, and we are honest with families about what we are seeing and what is likely to come next. Nursing care on its own is not enough, though. What makes a day worth getting up for is company, familiar routines and something to look forward to, so our team spends real time with residents rather than only attending to tasks. We encourage families to join us for meals, birthdays and quiet afternoons, and we keep visiting as open and as flexible as we sensibly can. For people recovering after a hospital stay, or whose regular carer needs a break, we also offer respite stays with the same level of nursing support. Choosing a nursing home is rarely an easy decision, and it is often made in a hurry. If it would help to talk it through or to look around, please contact us and we will make time for you.
