About Gorseway Nursing Home
Gorseway Nursing Home provides nursing care on Hayling Island for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and people who have sight or hearing loss. We also take planned respite stays. Qualified nurses are here throughout the day and night. That means conditions can be managed as they change rather than dealt with as emergencies, medicines are properly reviewed, and people who would otherwise move back and forth to hospital can usually be cared for here by staff who already know them. For people nearing the end of life, it means comfort and familiar faces. Nursing on its own would not make this a good place to live, so we work hard at everything else. Residents decide when to get up and how to spend the day, meals are meant to be enjoyed, and relatives are welcome whenever they want to come. For residents living with dementia we keep the day familiar and the pace gentle, and where somebody has a physical disability or sight and hearing loss we agree together how they want to be helped and approached. Respite stays give family carers a genuine break and support people who need nursing care for a period before going home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
