About St Lukes Care Home
We are St Lukes Care Home in Runcorn, Halton. We provide nursing care for older people, including many people living with dementia, and we also offer respite stays for people who need nursing support for a short period. Registered nurses are on duty here throughout the day and night. Having nurses on hand at all hours means we can care for people whose health needs are significant and respond quickly when something changes. We work with local GPs, district nurses and specialist teams so that concerns are acted on early rather than allowed to build into a crisis. Alongside that, we want the home to feel like somewhere a person would not mind living. People choose their own routines, keep their own belongings around them, and see family and friends when they wish. Visiting is not something we ration. We need to be candid about our current position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We accepted the findings, we have shared them openly with our staff team and with families, and we are working through them in detail through training, supervision and audit. That work is steady rather than instant, and we would rather describe it accurately than make promises. If you are considering nursing care in the Runcorn area, please come and visit, ask what has improved and what has not, and judge us on what you find.
