About Lindisfarne Crawcrook
Lindisfarne Crawcrook is a nursing home in Ryton, in Gateshead. Qualified nurses are on duty here throughout the day and night, which is what allows us to take people whose needs a residential home could not safely meet. Most of the people living with us are older adults and a large proportion are living with dementia. Some have managed a mental health condition for many years. A good number have a physical disability and need daily help with moving and positioning, and some are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. We also support younger adults whose health needs call for nursing. Respite admissions are available. The nursing itself is detailed and unhurried. Medicines, wounds, pain, pressure care, and making sure people eat and drink enough. The part no procedure covers is noticing early when somebody is not themselves, and that rests on the same staff knowing the same residents over months, which is why keeping our team is where most of our effort goes. Staff here are mostly local and tend to stay, and relatives are generally close enough to call in without making a journey of it. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Come and see the home on a normal day and ask us anything.
