About Temple Grove Nursing Home
Temple Grove Nursing Home is in Uckfield, East Sussex. We care for older people whose health needs go beyond what residential care can provide, and for younger adults living with conditions that require qualified nursing. Respite stays are available as well. Having registered nurses on duty at every hour is the foundation of what we do. Medication is managed carefully, wound care, catheter care and long standing conditions are dealt with on site rather than through a run of appointments elsewhere, and a change in a resident's health tends to be noticed early because the person noticing knows them well. We work closely with GPs, district nurses, therapists and hospital teams, and we press on a resident's behalf when something is slow in coming. Nursing is only half of what a home should be, and we work hard at not letting clinical routine crowd out ordinary life. Residents choose when to get up, where to sit, what they would like to eat and whether they want company or quiet. Rooms are people's own space, filled with their own things, and visitors come when it suits them. For younger adults in particular we are conscious that nobody expects to live in a nursing home, so privacy, independence and keeping hold of interests and friendships get real attention here. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of that, though what matters more is what residents and their families say about this week.
