About Glottenham Manor Nursing Home
We are Glottenham Manor Nursing Home in Robertsbridge, East Sussex. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, including those with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment, and we take respite stays as well as permanent places. Having qualified nurses here at every hour is the practical difference between us and a residential home. Changes in a resident's health are picked up by staff who already know them, a move elsewhere is rarely necessary when a condition shifts, and care at the end of life can be given here among familiar people rather than somewhere unfamiliar. For residents with a physical disability, the difference between good care and poor care is usually time and attention to detail. Enough time that a transfer is unhurried. Equipment set up as it should be. Being asked how something is best done by the person who actually knows, which is the resident. Where somebody has a sensory impairment, we make sure the environment works for them and we check that rather than assuming it, and we communicate in the way that suits the person rather than the way that is quickest for us. The rest is ordinary living, which we work at protecting. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
