About Highbury House Mental Health Unit
Highbury House in Stourbridge provides nursing care for adults with mental health needs, and we also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, older people, people living with sight or hearing loss and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug dependency. Many of those living here are younger adults. Nurses are on duty day and night, which means health needs and medication are managed here rather than becoming a crisis. Medication is reviewed properly and we work closely with local mental health services, doctors and community teams so that everybody involved is working to the same plan. Support of this kind works best when the house itself is calm, predictable and free of fuss. We keep our staff team as consistent as we can and we get to know people well enough to notice when something has shifted, usually earlier than any form would tell us. We also believe nobody should be defined by a diagnosis. Residents choose how they spend the day, what they eat, whether they want company and who visits, and where somebody is working towards more independence we support that properly. Respite stays are available. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and see how we work.
