About Us
Wimborne Manor is a nursing home in Wimborne, Dorset. We provide nursing care for adults who can no longer be safely supported at home, and we aim to make the move here feel like gaining help rather than losing independence.
The people living with us include older adults, people living with dementia, adults with mental health needs, adults with a physical disability and younger adults. We write a plan with each person that covers the practical help they want, the clinical care they need and the things they would rather we did not do for them. That last part is often the most useful conversation we have.
Our nursing team is here around the clock, which allows us to manage medication, monitor changing health and deal with problems while they are still small. We work with local general practitioners, district nurses and therapists, and we keep families informed rather than waiting to be asked.
Day to day, life here is meant to be ordinary. Meals are cooked on the premises, the garden is used whenever the Dorset weather allows, and people spend their time as they choose. Visitors are welcome throughout the day.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating.
If you would like to look round, please get in touch. We will give you time, answer your questions honestly and not rush you towards a decision.
