About Fairfield House

Fairfield House is a nursing home in Chickerell, Dorset, caring for adults who need qualified nursing support as well as help with daily living. Registered nurses are on duty at all hours, which means clinical care happens here rather than through repeated journeys elsewhere, and that when needs change somebody usually does not have to move on. Most of our residents are older and many are living with dementia. Around the nursing sits the ordinary business of a day, which is what people actually judge us on. Unhurried mornings. Meals worth sitting down to. Company when it is wanted and quiet when it is not. Somebody noticing quickly when a person is not themselves. We also support people living with mental health conditions, working alongside community teams so that support stays consistent, people with physical disabilities, and people with sight or hearing loss, where how we announce ourselves and describe things matters a great deal. Younger adults with nursing needs live here as well, and we try to make sure the life of the home has something in it for them. Respite stays are available too. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange a visit if you would like to see the home and meet the team.
