About Clarence House Care Home
We are Clarence House Care Home, a nursing home in Mexborough. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing alongside support with daily living, including people living with dementia, people with mental health needs and people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather say that ourselves than let you discover it elsewhere. We have been through the findings properly, changed how care is planned, recorded and reviewed, and strengthened the way we supervise and support our staff. Our progress is being monitored, and we give relatives the same account of it that we give the regulator. What we are working to protect in the meantime is everyday life here. Nurses on duty at all hours mean that health needs can be managed as they change. Around that, people should still be choosing when to get up, what to eat and how to spend the day, cared for by staff who know their history well enough to notice quickly when something is wrong. If you are considering Clarence House for a relative, please come and see us, and ask about the rating directly. We will give you a straight answer and show you what we have changed rather than offering reassurance.
