About Hatherleigh Care Village
Here at Hatherleigh Care Village, we provide nursing home care for people in and around Okehampton, in the heart of Devon. We support a wide range of individuals, including older people, those living with dementia, people experiencing mental health difficulties, younger adults, and those who need a shorter respite stay to rest and recover or to give family carers a much needed break. Our team works across nursing care and specialist support, meaning we can meet more complex needs alongside day to day care. We think it matters that people can stay with us as their needs change, rather than having to move on to somewhere unfamiliar. Getting to know someone properly takes time, and we put real effort into understanding what makes each person comfortable, what they enjoy, and how they like their day to go. We are proud to hold a rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the consistent work our staff put in every day. It is not something we take for granted. We review how we do things regularly and listen carefully to residents and their families when something could be done better. Being based in Okehampton means we are part of a genuine community, and we welcome that. Families are always encouraged to be involved in the life of the home, and we try to make sure that visiting and staying connected feels easy and natural rather than something that needs to be arranged in advance. If you are trying to find the right place for yourself or someone you love, we would always encourage you to come and see us in person. A visit gives a far better sense of who we are than any description can. We would be glad to show you around and answer whatever questions you might have.
