About The Fleet
The Fleet is a nursing home in Dartmouth. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily life, for residents living with dementia, for people living with mental health conditions, for people whose physical disability requires skilled support and for people whose sight or hearing is impaired. Having nurses on duty at every hour means we can manage wound and pressure care, continence and catheter needs, diabetes, pain relief and end of life care, working closely with GPs, district nurses and hospital teams. It also means somebody whose health declines can usually stay here, among familiar faces, rather than being moved at the hardest possible moment. For residents living with dementia we keep surroundings calm, routines predictable and staff consistent. Where sight or hearing is impaired we keep belongings exactly where they are expected and check that we have been understood. Respite stays are available, including nursing support after a hospital discharge. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Devon are welcome to visit.
