About Oliver House
Oliver House is a nursing home in Ilkeston, caring for older people from across Derbyshire who need nursing as well as help with everyday life. Many of our residents are living with dementia, we support younger adults whose health needs call for nursing care, and we offer respite stays. Registered nurses are on duty around the clock. In practice that means pressure care, medicines, wounds, continence and the early signs of infection are all handled here by people who know the person, instead of by a series of strangers after a long wait. Families tell us the reassurance of that is hard to overstate. We also think a nursing home should be a pleasant place to spend a day, not simply a safe one. There is a difference between a resident being well looked after and a resident having something to look forward to, and we pay attention to the second as well as the first. Visitors are welcome at sensible hours and beyond them when it matters. Respite care is available for people recovering after illness or surgery and for families who need a break without worrying about who is doing the lifting. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ilkeston is a close knit sort of place and we like being part of it. Come and look round whenever suits you.
