About Lindisfarne Care Home
Lindisfarne Care Home is a nursing home at Newton Hall in County Durham. Nursing care means registered nurses are on the team here at all hours, working alongside care staff who come to know the people living with us very well. We support older adults and younger adults with a wide range of needs. Many of those who live here are living with dementia. Others have complex physical disabilities, mental health needs, or sight and hearing loss that shapes how we communicate and how we set a room up. Some arrive after an illness or a hospital admission that has changed what they can manage alone, and some come to us for a planned respite stay. Nursing homes can slip into being run for the convenience of the rota, and we watch for that. The clinical side has to be right and we take it seriously, but so does the ordinary side. We want people to have something to look forward to, to see those they care about without an appointment, and to keep whichever routines still mean something to them. Families are part of this. They usually know things about a person that no assessment will capture, and we would rather ask than guess. We tell them when something changes instead of waiting to be asked. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to visit or to talk about a place.
