About Lindisfarne
Lindisfarne at Newton Aycliffe provides nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, working alongside carers who know the people they look after. Nursing needs such as wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met on the premises, and we work closely with GPs and community specialists so that changes in health are picked up early. Supporting people with such varied needs under one roof works only if care is planned for each person individually and staff are trained for the needs they actually support. That is how we run the home, and it is why we take time at the outset to learn somebody's history, preferences and what makes a day go well or badly. The home is meant to feel lived in rather than clinical. Rooms are personalised, meals are cooked here with a genuine choice, visitors are welcome and there is company for anybody who wants it. Respite and short stays can be arranged, including after a hospital admission. If you are looking at nursing homes in County Durham, please telephone us and arrange a visit.
