About The Beeches Nursing and Residential Care Home
The Beeches is a nursing and residential care home in Kelloe, County Durham. We care for older people who need nursing support and for those who need residential care, including many people living with dementia, and we also support younger adults with nursing needs. Having qualified nurses here means people do not have to move on when their health changes, which spares a great deal of upheaval for someone who is frail and a great deal of worry for their family. Around the nursing, we try to keep life ordinary. People choose when to get up, what they eat, and how to spend the day, and for people living with dementia we keep routines steady and allow enough time that nobody is rushed. Respite stays are available for families needing a break or for someone recovering after a hospital admission. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. That is not where we want to be and we are not going to explain it away. We know which parts of our work fell short, we are working through them with our team, and we would rather you asked us about it face to face than read a careful sentence here. If you are considering the home for someone close to you, please come and visit, speak to residents and relatives, and ask us to show you what has changed.
