About Glencoe Care Home
Glencoe Care Home is a nursing home in Hayle, on the north coast of Cornwall. Because we are registered for nursing care, there are qualified nurses on duty here around the clock. That matters for people whose health needs cannot wait for a visiting professional, whether that is wound care, help with a feeding tube, managing pain, or simply having someone on hand who will notice early that something has changed. The people who live with us are mostly older adults, many of them with dementia, and some with a physical disability or a learning disability. A few are younger than you might expect in a nursing home, and they are no less at home for it. What the people here have in common is a level of need that families could no longer meet alone, often after trying for a very long time. Nursing care can easily become the whole story, and we try not to let it. Somebody who needs help turning in bed still has opinions about the cricket, still wants their own pillow, still wants to be asked rather than told. We keep a relaxed routine, we get people outside when the Cornish weather allows, and we make room for visitors at whatever hour suits them. We also take respite admissions for people whose needs are too clinical for an ordinary residential stay. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us and arrange to look round, and bring the questions you are embarrassed to ask.
