About Caritate Nursing Home
Here at Caritate Nursing Home in Bodmin, Cornwall, we provide nursing and personal care for older people, adults living with physical disabilities, and younger adults who need a level of support that cannot always be met at home. We also offer respite care for those who need a short break from their usual arrangements, whether that is planned or at short notice. We are a nursing home, which means we have registered nurses on site around the clock. This matters enormously to the people we support and to their families, because it means clinical needs can be monitored and responded to promptly, without the uncertainty that can come with other care settings. We want to be straightforward with anyone considering us for themselves or for someone they love. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of requires improvement. We take that seriously. We know what areas need attention and we are actively working through those improvements with our whole team. We would rather be honest about where we are than paper over it, because the people living here and their families deserve nothing less than transparency. What has not changed is our genuine commitment to knowing each resident as an individual. Cornwall can sometimes feel like it sits at the end of the world, but for many of our residents Bodmin is home, and being cared for close to family and familiar surroundings matters deeply. We try to reflect that in the way we work, taking time to understand personal routines, preferences and histories rather than fitting people into a one size fits all approach. If you would like to visit, ask questions or simply have an informal conversation about whether Caritate might be the right fit, we would very much welcome hearing from you.
