About Prospect House

Prospect House is in Malpas in Cheshire, offering both residential and nursing care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Having residential and nursing care under one roof matters more than it sounds. It means that when somebody's health needs increase they do not automatically have to move again and start over in an unfamiliar building with a new set of faces. That continuity is worth a great deal to people and to their families. Qualified nurses are on duty at all hours, so medication, wound care, continence and long term conditions are managed here, in close contact with local GPs, community teams and therapists. Where somebody is approaching the end of their life we concentrate on comfort and dignity and on keeping families properly informed. Away from the clinical side we try to keep the feel of a home. Rooms are personal, the day is arranged around the people living here rather than the rota, and visitors are welcome without fuss. For people living with dementia we keep things familiar and unhurried and we ask relatives to tell us about a person's history, because that is usually what helps us understand what somebody is asking for. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You would be welcome to visit, meet the team and see how we work.
