About Adult Pathways 1
Our home at Alderley Edge provides both residential and nursing care for a mixed group of adults. Some of our residents are older people who need nursing alongside help with daily life; others are adults with a learning disability, autistic adults or people with a physical disability, including younger adults. Having nursing on site matters, because it means that if somebody's health needs change they do not have to move somewhere unfamiliar. Nurses are on duty day and night, so medication, wound and pressure care and conditions that need close monitoring are managed here. Because the needs here vary so much, support is planned one person at a time. For an older resident living with dementia that may mean a calm, familiar day, consistent staff and time taken to understand what somebody means when speech has become hard. For a younger adult with a learning disability it may mean support to cook, get out locally and have a real say in how the week runs. The right equipment and training are in place for physical support needs, and our staff are trained in communication and in supporting somebody who is distressed. Respite stays are available. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
