About Bourne View
We are Bourne View, a nursing home in Poole. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for those who need nursing support for a short period. Registered nurses are on duty here at every hour of the day and night. That allows us to care for people whose health needs are significant or unpredictable, and it means families do not have to wonder who is available in the middle of the night. We work closely with local GPs, district nurses, therapists and specialist teams so that changes are picked up early rather than dealt with as emergencies. Good nursing care is mostly a matter of noticing. Appetite, mood, skin, breathing, mobility, pain. Our team is trained to pay attention to those things and to act rather than record and wait. Just as much thought goes into ordinary life. People here choose their own routines, keep their own belongings around them, follow their own interests and see family and friends when they wish. Younger adults in particular should not find their lives narrowed to fit a nursing home, and we work hard to prevent that. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep examining our own practice all the same. If you are considering nursing care in the Poole area, please come and visit us and take your time over the decision.
