About Sunnymede

Sunnymede is a nursing home in Bristol, caring for older people whose health needs require qualified nursing alongside help with daily living. Registered nurses work with our care staff, which means we can look after people with health conditions that need regular clinical attention, support those recovering after illness or a hospital admission, and continue caring for someone as their needs change. We also support people living with a physical disability, and we pay close attention to the practical things that make a day workable, from the right equipment to giving somebody long enough to do what they can for themselves without being hurried. Residents keep their own routines as far as they are able. They decide when to get up, where to spend their time and how much they want to join in with whatever is going on. Respite stays are available for people who need nursing support for a short period, often while a family carer takes a planned break. We should be open with you about our regulator. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We do not regard that as good enough. We have taken it seriously, there is work in hand to address it, and we would rather set it out plainly than leave families to discover it later. If you are considering Sunnymede, please ring and arrange to visit. Come and look round properly, meet the staff and ask us the questions you actually want answered.
