About Bloomfield
Bloomfield is a nursing home in Bath. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside everyday support, for residents living with dementia and for younger adults with nursing needs, and we offer respite stays, including for people recovering after a hospital admission. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, which is what allows wounds, medication, pain relief, continence, long term conditions and end of life care to be managed on site. Changes in a resident's health are noticed and acted on quickly rather than left until the next appointment, and we work alongside GPs, community specialists and hospital teams so that decisions are made calmly and in good time. It also means people do not have to move on as their needs increase. Nursing is not the whole of life, and we try not to let it set the tone of the place. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Rooms hold people's own furniture and photographs, and visitors are welcome without appointment. For residents living with dementia we keep surroundings familiar and staffing consistent, and we take the time to understand what lies behind distress rather than simply managing it. The Care Quality Commission rated us good overall at our most recent inspection. Please come and look round.
