About Hanbury Court Care Home
Hanbury Court Care Home is a nursing home in Dagenham. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside everyday support, for residents living with dementia, for people with mental health needs, for people with physical disabilities and for people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also offer respite stays. Having registered nurses on duty at all hours is what allows us to look after complex health needs here. Wounds, medication, pain relief, continence, long term conditions and end of life care are managed on site, and changes in a resident's health are noticed and acted on quickly. We work with GPs, community specialists and hospital teams so that decisions get made calmly and in good time rather than in an emergency. Nursing is not the whole of life, though, and we try hard not to let it set the tone of the place. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Rooms hold people's own belongings and visitors are welcome without appointment. For residents living with dementia we keep the surroundings familiar and the staffing consistent, and we take the time to understand what lies behind distress rather than simply managing it. We keep families properly informed, particularly when somebody becomes unwell. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please arrange to come and look round.
