About Arch Hill Court
Arch Hill Court is a home care agency in Kidderminster, supporting people in their own homes across Worcestershire. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have mental health needs and with people living with a physical disability. Almost everyone we visit has said at some point that they want to stay in their own home. Our entire purpose is to make that realistic for as long as it is safe and genuinely the better option. In practice that means help with washing and dressing, medication managed and recorded properly, meals cooked, support to move about the house without fear of falling, and a dependable person turning up in a week that might otherwise be empty. For people living with dementia we rely on familiarity. The same carers, the same order of doing things, an unhurried pace and no arguing about the date. Families usually hold the detail that makes a visit go well, and we ask for it. For people with mental health needs, the useful thing is often structure rather than tasks, and a presence that does not disappear when a fortnight goes badly. We are also willing to say when home care is no longer the right answer, early enough for a family to plan rather than react. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are glad of it and we would rather keep earning it.

More about the care at Arch Hill Court
Dementia Care at Arch Hill Court
No arguing about the date, the same order of doing things, an unhurried pace: dementia care at home is largely a matter of discipline rather than invention. Arch Hill Court is registered for dementia care and relies on familiarity, which in turn depends on sending the same carers. Families usually hold the detail that makes a visit go well, so ask when that history is collected and who reads it. Ask how risks around the cooker, the front door and medication are assessed. Ask what a carer does when a visit is refused at the door. Ask how quickly hours can increase as the condition progresses.
Home Care at Arch Hill Court
Paying by the hour means the service can grow or shrink with the need, which is its chief advantage over a care home. Arch Hill Court is registered as a home care agency covering Worcestershire, with packages from a single call to several visits a day. Rates of £26 to £31 an hour are typical of the region, with short calls, waking nights and bank holidays usually charged on a different basis. Ask the minimum visit length, how cover is arranged when a regular carer is away, and how calls are recorded. Ask whether Worcestershire would fund part of the cost following an assessment. The good rating awarded in 2019 is a useful signal, though an older one, so ask what has changed since.
