About Thames Care
Thames Care is a home care agency covering Reading and the surrounding parts of Wokingham. We support people in their own homes, working with older people, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. Nearly everyone who contacts us wants to carry on living where they are. Our job is to make that practical. That might mean one call each morning to help somebody wash, dress and get going, several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer sits that give a family carer time of their own. The first conversation is where the work starts. We want to know how the day usually runs, what has become hard, and what the person would rather keep doing for themselves. Support planned that way feels like help rather than intrusion. We put real effort into sending familiar carers. Where someone lives with dementia, is autistic, or has reduced sight or hearing, a known face and a predictable visit matter more than anything else we could arrange. We also keep timings steady, because a call that drifts can throw an entire day. We keep families informed where the person wants that, and we raise concerns early rather than waiting. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us and we will talk it through honestly.
