About One Day At A Time Home Care
One Day At A Time Home Care is a home care agency supporting people in their own homes across Reading and Wokingham. Our name is how a good deal of care actually works. Needs change, some days are better than others, and the job is to be reliable through all of them. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have mental health needs and with people who have physical disabilities. A visit may involve help to wash and dress, support with medication, preparing meals, assistance with mobility and moving safely about the home, light household tasks, or company and support to get out to appointments and to see people. Support is agreed with the person first. We ask what time they like to get up, what they want to eat, what they want help with and what they would rather manage themselves, and we involve family and other professionals as far as the person wishes. The plan is written down and reviewed when circumstances change. We keep the same small team calling on each client wherever we can, because a familiar carer makes support far easier to accept. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased to hold it, and the better test is whether our clients feel safe, respected and listened to when we are in their homes.
