About Right at Home Worthing & Shoreham District
Right at Home Worthing and Shoreham provides care and support to people in their own homes across Shoreham by Sea, Worthing and the surrounding district. We work with older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Our visits are deliberately longer than the quarter of an hour that home care is often squeezed into. You cannot help somebody wash, dress, take their medication, eat properly and feel like a person in that time. Giving our care staff room to do the job well is the most useful decision we make. Everything begins with a proper conversation in the person's own home about what has become difficult and what they want to keep doing for themselves. We agree a plan from that, involving family or an advocate if the person wishes, and we revise it when circumstances change rather than leaving it to sit. We think carefully about who visits whom, taking account of interests and temperament as well as the practical help needed, and we keep the same small team with each person so that nobody is greeted by a stranger. For people living with dementia and for anyone with failing sight, a familiar voice at the door counts for a great deal. We also support family carers, because reliable help at home is often what allows a relative to keep caring without reaching exhaustion. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please call us if you would like to talk things over.
