We are Rees Healthcare, a home care provider based in Newbury and supporting people in their own homes across West Berkshire. We work with older people and people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and younger adults who need support to live independently. Home care is only useful if it fits the life it is supposed to support, so nothing starts until we have visited and talked properly with the person and, if they want, their family. From that we agree what the support should actually cover. For some that is a short morning call to get the day going. For others it is several visits covering personal care, medication, meals and the practical running of a household, or a larger package where somebody needs substantial help to stay at home. We put effort into sending the same carers to the same people. Consistency is what allows somebody to relax into the arrangement, and it is also how a carer notices that a person is not themselves today. Our staff are trained for the specific work they do and are supervised properly. We work alongside GPs, district nurses and social workers where they are involved, and we keep families informed when anything changes.
