Angel and Star Care supports people in their own homes in Nuneaton and across Warwickshire. We work with older people, autistic adults and adults with a learning disability, people managing mental ill health and younger adults. Our work begins with asking rather than assessing. What does somebody want their week to contain, what has become hard work, what can they still manage perfectly well without us, and what would they rather we left alone. Those answers become a plan written in plain language, agreed with the person and with family where they want that, and revisited when circumstances change. In practice that covers personal care, medication prompted or given safely, meals, shopping, laundry and housework, and support to get out to appointments, to work or college, or simply to see people. Where somebody is autistic or has a learning disability, consistency and communication matter more than anything else, so we keep teams familiar, give plenty of warning about changes and communicate in whatever way genuinely reaches the person. Our carers train before they work alone, are supervised in people's homes afterwards and are expected to raise anything that worries them the same day. We are a newer team and have not yet had a full inspection of our own, which we would rather say plainly. Please ask us searching questions and speak to people we already support before you decide.
