About Priority Care Services and Housing
Priority Care and Housing is a home care agency based in Birmingham, supporting people in their own homes. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with a physical disability. Support at home only works when it fits the household it enters, so we start by asking rather than telling. How would you like the morning to go. What do you want to keep managing yourself. What would feel like an intrusion. From there we agree what our visits cover, which might be personal care, help with medication, meals, shopping and appointments, or practical help that makes staying independent realistic rather than merely hoped for. We put effort into continuity, because a familiar worker who already knows how somebody likes things done is worth a great deal more than one who has read a file. We plan rounds with realistic travel time, we send the same small team wherever we can, and we ring if a time has to change. Our staff are trained to notice when something is different and to raise it quickly. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We would rather say so plainly and then explain how we supervise our workers and check that visits happen as agreed. If you would like to talk about care at home, please contact us and we will go through it without pressure.
