About Midland Health Care Services
Midland Health Care provides care and support in people's own homes in Wednesbury and across the Walsall area. We visit older people, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and younger adults. A good deal of our work begins with a hospital discharge, which is the point at which families are under most pressure and least able to plan. We try to be quick and clear at that stage: what we can start, when we can start it, and honestly what we cannot safely cover. Vague reassurance at that moment does nobody any good. After that the work settles into something steadier. Help with washing and dressing, medication prompted or given, meals, moving safely around the house, laundry, shopping, appointments and proper unhurried company. We expect the plan to change as somebody recovers or as their needs grow, and we review it rather than leaving it in a folder. For people living with dementia we keep familiar carers at familiar times as far as the rota allows. Where mental health is part of the picture, our usefulness is mostly steadiness: keeping to arrangements, noticing when somebody is not themselves, and being easy to talk to without a formal appointment. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We are happy to answer hard questions about our staffing and training.
