About Home & Community Services
We provide care at home for people in Tower Hamlets and the surrounding parts of east London. Our carers visit people where they live, helping with the parts of the day that have become difficult while leaving the rest well alone. Everything begins with a proper conversation in your own home rather than with a form. We want to understand what your day usually looks like, which parts have become harder, and what you would rather carry on managing without anybody stepping in. The plan comes from your answers, and we go back to it as things change in either direction. If somebody needs less from us than they did, we would rather say so than keep visits running out of habit. A visit might involve help getting washed and dressed, support with medication, preparing a meal, shopping and housework, getting out to an appointment, or simply company and conversation for somebody who sees very few people in a week. We keep care teams small so that the same faces turn up, and we aim to arrive when we said we would, which sounds basic and is the thing families most often say has gone wrong elsewhere. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We treat it as the standard we are expected to hold rather than something to advertise, and we keep asking the people we visit whether we are doing what we promised.
