About Home Counties Carers
We provide care at home in Woking and the surrounding parts of Surrey. Those we support include older adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. How somebody is spoken to matters to us as much as what gets done. A carer can complete every task on a plan and still leave a person feeling managed rather than helped, and that difference is not a detail, it is the job. So we recruit for manner as much as for experience, we train properly, and we supervise in a way that means we would notice if the manner slipped. We also keep visits long enough to be worth making. Rushed care is poor care and it is obvious to everybody except whoever designed the schedule. Where a person's needs grow we reassess properly rather than adding minutes onto an arrangement that has stopped fitting. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased with it and a little wary of it, because a rating describes a period of time rather than a permanent quality. What keeps it true is the same close attention to individual households that earned it, one visit at a time.
