We work with people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, and people managing mental health conditions. Covering that range means a template is no use, so we do not work from one. We sit down with the person, find out what they want their days to look like and where help is genuinely needed, and build the visits from there. It takes longer at the start and saves a great deal of trouble later. For people living with dementia we rely on familiarity above all: the same carer, at a familiar time, in surroundings the person already understands. Where we support people with learning disabilities and autistic people, the emphasis moves from care towards enabling, and success looks like somebody running their own home and getting where they want to go.
