About Midlands Community Care
We are Midlands Community Care, based in Walsall, and we provide care in people's own homes across the area. Our whole purpose is to make staying at home workable, because home holds a great deal that is easy to undervalue until it is gone: your own routine, your own kitchen, the neighbours who notice you, the right to please yourself about the shape of the day. The people we visit include older people, many of them living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Support is agreed with the person before it starts. We ask how the day runs now, what has become difficult, what they still want to do without help, and we build the visits from the answers rather than from a template. In practice that might be help with washing and dressing, a prompt and a check with medication, a meal cooked and eaten in company, help moving safely about the house, or a hand with shopping and appointments. Some people want one short call a day. Others need several, or a longer stretch so that a family carer gets a proper break. We are a newer registration and have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission. We think it is better to say so ourselves. We are happy to explain how we recruit, train and supervise our carers, so do ring and ask.
